Full Name: Carmine Quinteste He'nateth
Age: 41
Race: Shen'Ihr
Status: Inactive
Faction: Power-wielder Hero, Tier 1

Appearance

Shen'Ihr are known to be very beautiful by human standards in somewhat inhuman ways. Carmine exemplifies this concept wholly. She is a short woman, standing only five feet and two inches, and slight of frame. Her skin is an odd, healthy pale that seems to reflect the light unnaturally, and her ivory locks give her a rightfully alien appearance. Another oddity is her inhuman eye color; both eyes are a deep maroon hue, sharply offsetting her pale skin and hair.

She dresses conservatively, being a shy individual, but in her own home, away from scrutinizing eyes, she tends to dress as if she were back home. Her dresses are little more than thin shifts, often exposing the extremely intricate tattoos covering the upper half of her body.

Powers

Like all Shen’Ihr, Carmine possesses an ingrained hatred for magic. She has taken it a step further, however; as an Inquisitorial hopeful, seeking out and destroying magic in all of its forms is not only her duty, it is her desire. Her abilities reflect this; as a psion, she is extremely adept at both detecting and counteracting magical energies. While her understanding of the mechanics of magic is not quite as deep as her hatred of it, she studies the craft intently when given the chance.

Carmine is one of the few psions who do not practice melee combat; all of her attacks and defenses are based on sheer willpower. Her abilities center around heightening her ability to detect magic, then overcoming its presence with psionic force of will. She also has the ability to cause her projectile attacks to phase through solid barriers, such as mage barriers, to strike the vulnerable targets behind them, and has refined control of her ranged attacks. Many are not only honed into sharp spikes, but can change direction with but a thought, pursuing nimble opponents or surprising them with right-angle and hairpin turns.

Another notable aspect is Carmine’s clarity of mind; her concentration is significantly enhanced. To most, her body is also an immovable object; unless she wishes to move it is almost impossible for a wielder of comparable power to unseat her. Furthermore, her psionic defenses are retributive, lashing out at her attackers reflexively and returning every ounce of damage they do to her in full.

Biography

Carmine is forty-one years old, and was born during a period in which Shen'Ihr thrived economically, philosophically, and industrially back on their homeworld. She became a patriot at a very young age, and the first woman in her family to join the military when she came of age. She spent her first eight years of military service in the administration field, steadily progressing through the ranks. When not answering the call of duty, she pursued an education outside of her duties fervently.

The reason? She had a strong desire to become an Inquisitor. Having admired their line of work for quite some time, she was intent on cross-training into the field, but was not an officer and unable to do so. It took another two years for Carmine to be accepted into the ranks, proudly pinning on her first golden bar and leaping from the middle rung of the enlisted ranks back down to the bottom rung of the officer ranks.

Her credentials package was compiled and submitted to the Inquisitorial Orders without any further delay, and she went as far as 'pre-training,' a prepratory school that assessed the value of potential Inquisitors. Before her prepratory training could be completed, however, the Shen'Ihr homeworld was wracked with civil war. With the Monarchy, which she remained fiercely loyal to, overturned, she became a refugee of war. She fled the homeworld, managing to make it as far as an outlying colony of anarchist aliens before her resources were depleted. She remained there until rumors of a Shen'Ihr mage began circulating.

Supposedly, the abomination was heading to Earth, the very same planet that her role model An'hui battled over, apparently a member of the Chorus at this point. Between those two reasons she found the motivation to pursue the rumor. She intends to find and bring the abomination to justice, and contact the Inquisitor, hoping against hopes that his betrayal is all some sort of bitter hoax or foul lie.

After the end of the Chorus engagement above Earth, Carmine remained behind on the planet. Given a direct order from Inquisitor An'hui himself to find and destroy the Shen'Ihr mage, Carmine knows that time is of the essence. At present she studies part time at the Schule vom Gemut to hone her skills, and is slowly building a network of people to help her hunt down and excise the cancerous lump that has fled to Earth to find refuge from the will of the Inquisition.
