Appearance

By her physical appearance alone, none would suspect that Cassandra was actually half a demon. Instead, her body is mostly just human, as she does not even possess a means through which she can physically express her heritage. No horned, fork-tailed, fanged transformation for the dark mage. Instead, Cassandra displays slightly tanned skin, with eyes and hair that are as black as night. That's about as "dark" as the infernalist gets.

Powers

Practicing the dark arts for a few years now, Cassandra Litvyak has become a novice demon summoner. When in combat, she is apt to perform rituals to summon fell creatures to aid her in battle. However, she is also capable of casting curses on her enemies, with enough practice, as well as cast spells to bolster her own capabilities.

Biography

Seventeen years ago, in some swatch of land in D'hennex, a certain nameless village was overcome and possessed by demonic influence. The villagers began to practice infernal magics and rituals, all in the hopes of allowing the demon to cross the planes and enter our world, where he could begin a horrible reign of terror. At the head of this infernal religion stood the high priestess, Alicia Litvyak, a skilled dark mage who devised a ritual through which their dark lord could permanently cross through and exact his plans for humanity. By opening a temporary gate, their demon lord would be able to cross through long enough to join Alicia's bed, and together they would create a child. The child was meant to become the apex of their religion, a human with demonic blood which would be able to serve as an anchor for their dark lord to cross through and possess, so he could exist in our world through his child.

The demon crossed over and bedded Alicia. After that night it vanished. The priestess gave birth exactly nine months later to a girl, who was named Cassandra. As Alicia tended to their infernal religion, Cassandra was placed in the care of Alicia's younger sister, Victoria. Victoria took it upon herself to raise the girl, and did her duty with enthusiasm. Unable to bear any children herself, Victoria tended to the girl as if she were her own, and it didn't take long for her to love the child deeply. Enough so, that she realized their religion was most foul, and that when Cassandra was of age, the demon would erase the girl herself to make way for his own baleful soul. Victoria would not have this.

Risking it all, Victoria attempted to escape their village with the two year old Cassandra. They were found it by Victoria's husband, of all people, which she then killed in self defense. Several other villagers tried to stop her, but Victoria was skilled enough to escape their clutches and flee the village. Her flight took her all the way to An-Yneaith, and soon enough she entered the Alaran outpost to attempt to reach safer lands. To reach Cardinal.

Cassandra has since then lived most of her life in Cardinal, unaware of her demonic heritage and of her chosen destiny. Instead, Victoria raised her as if they were both from the northern continent all along, choosing North City (the farthest from D'hennex) as their home. Despite all of this, Cassie still displayed frightening aptitude for infernal magic. Rather than stifling her potential, Victoria thought to teach the girl how to use her skills, so as to prevent them from suddenly exploding in a negative manner. Instead, allowing Cassie access to her old tomes, Victoria thought to coax her into practicing her craft in a more peaceful manner. Even if there are many who would despise and condemn their practices.

Growing up, Cassie has more or less been as normal as a person could be, save for the practicing demon magic part. However, there are times when she grows violent. With demonic blood coursing through her veins, Cassandra is prone to angering quickly at times, and lashing out at others. A dire dichotomy exists within her, which forces her to either act as a mild-mannered and easygoing teenager, or as a darker person.
