Appearance

Catabella is a youthful-looking tigress demihuman with brilliant, bestial green eyes and a shock of short, spiky reddish-black hair. Her physical appearance is that of a teenage girl, but her eyes are much older. Her fashion sense runs the gamut from trendy teen clothing that matches her outward age to high-end designer evening gowns and tailored suits more suited to her actual age.

Powers

Catabella is little more than an average psion, however, she is able to almost completely conceal her telltale signature. Her combat abilities seem to center around misdirection and the psionic manipulation of light and shadow.

Biography

Born and raised in the high-security Magister family compound in East City, educated at the city's best private schools, and tutored harshly in the psionic arts during her formative years, Catabella is the daughter of noted corporate figure V. Alexander Magister and an unknown female who died when Cat and her sister Tabitha were very young. Cat achieved her master's degree in finance from Cardinal University at the age of twenty-three, where she evidenced great aptitude for investment and stock trading. When she left college, she promptly turned to the ruthless lifestyle of thievery and assassination she learned under her father's tutelage. Combining her criminal endeavors with her financial know-how, she has crafted for herself a comfortably wealthy life, as well as an extensive reputation in the personage of an underworld figure known only as The Cat.

In spite of the fact that she was born only thirty-one years ago, Catabella is in fact over fifty years of age - she is an old woman at the beginnings of a very real second chance at life. A wish gone somewhat awry from her intentions threw Cat back in time by twenty years, stranding her in the present day in a different body from that to which she was accustomed. Her wish was to return to her past to undo a bleak and horrible future world that she viewed as her creation. In her past - today's present - she'd once met a young half-Saiyan named Tamanegi Niyama and became intrigued by the boy's seething rage and potential for sinister, evil actions. Cat spent years cultivating and encouraging the child's darker natures - only to realize that she had created a monster when the halfbreed overpowered her and became the world's most brutal and ruthless villain, a terrible self-styled 'Dark Emperor' whose intent was to gain immortality and Kami-like power to remake the world in his own image.

As ruthless as she was, even Cat was horrified by what she'd created. Nearly annihilated by a ki-blast from her protege as she spoke her final wish, Catabella awoke in the bloody, broken body of a West City street youth... but she had succeeded, at least in part. She had been thrown back to the time when she had begun to encourage Tamanegi's inner evil, and hopefully in time to stop it. Cat slaughtered her present-day self and took her place with the assistance of her father, V. Alexander Magister, and then did what no one would have expected of the thief, assassin, and murderess. She turned a complete one-eighty from what she had been teaching the young halfbreed and encouraged his heroic tendencies, in order to circumvent the birth of the dark warrior. The battle is far from over, as much damage had already been done by her prior self, and the boy's dark side is strong, but Cat continues to attempt to steer him away from the future horror.

In the meantime, she has continued her own mercenary ways, performing acts of thievery and murder for hire, and combining the proceeds with her knowledge of financial matters and her corporate resources as the heir to Magister Finance. She was occasionally seen to battle the Chorus forces during the Etiquette of Reform era, but only if she couldn't use her shadow-manipulation to escape the battle before it started, and she always withdrew before she faced any real danger.

Her image, though not her name, has been linked to any number of thefts, and rumor links her to several murders, including that of a prominent West City attorney, as well as the disappearance of her own elder sister, Tabitha Magister. Under the alias of Katrina Masters, she is also wanted for breaking one Cesto Sphalerite out of a jail in Central Capital, as well as the attempted murder-for-hire of the power wielder who jailed Cesto in the first place.

Death

Catabella was killed on October 6, 2006, during a charity event in South City. The event was raided by vampiric villainess Selene Alexander, who killed Catabella after the feline psion killed one of Selene's minions and wounded several others.
