Clarification, please: Are the player gains taken as percentages of the bad guy's PL/PLs, or of the player character's PL? The page itself implies gains are taken, as normal, from the bad guy's PL, but that leaves out any adventure where there is no easily-identifiable "bad guy PL" to gain from.
