Full Name:Ryokuchuuseki Kojika
Age:17
Status:Active
Faction:Power-wielder, Tier 2
Appearance
Standing only a hairsbreadth over five feet tall, Ryo is a diminutive little thing. Her body is lightly built, as she is far faster than she is strong, and while pretty in her own right, she tends to blend into crowds very well. Perhaps the most notable thing about her appearance is her long hair, which reaches the small of her back, and her docile brown eyes. Even these things are hardly constant, as she spends a great deal of time in disguises as per her mission requirements.
Powers
Ryo is a highly-trained kunoichi, or 'female ninja.' Her training began at a very young age, and persisted into her adolescence. By the time she was sixteen, she had already spent ten years learning her craft.
When at her best, Ryo isn't even noticed at all. She concerns herself with stealth and guile, possessing the abilities and the equipment to mask her presence from the senses of others completely. If she must fight, she is quite capable in those regards as well. She has been trained with a variety of weapons, such to the point that she could use almost anything effectively as one, and has further specialized training with ninja-to style blades. Ryo can be considered a master of this particular family of swords.
In conjunction with her physical prowess, Ryo has also been trained in a style of ninja magic called kuji-in. Kuji-in is the practice of manipulating the ancient via intricate hand gestures and verbal commands. There are eighty-one kuji-in total, though only nine primary symbols. Their effects vary greatly, from enhancing bodily speed and strength to allowing the caster to reach such perfect balance that they can walk up walls and across ceilings. Ryo is also a competent weaponsmith, capable of repairing and to a limited degree even making her own weapons.
Biography
Often referred to derisively by her clan as the Reluctant Kunoichi, Ryo has had her fair share of hardships in the past. She is the middlemost child of three, having an older brother and younger sister. Along with her siblings, she was reared up from a young age to become an agent of stealth and deception. Unlike her brother, who was trained to fill a more combative role for the clan, she and her sister were trained as assassins, theives, and spies. Though she enjoyed her training initially, she soon tired of it, lacking the 'spark' that her brother and sister displayed. By the age of ten, she was more or less indifferent towards her training, wishing instead to marry her proverbial Prince Charming and raise a family in her small island home.
Hearing none of it, her mother ensured that her training persisted, and while she was capable of the taskings set before her, she was not at all inclined to accomplish them. The result was a constant battle of wills between mother, a veteran kunoichi wishing to carry on her legacy, and daughter, uninterested and unwilling to do any such thing.
Her brother and sister surpassed her, and were the first to leave home. Tales of their exploits have swept through their village ever since their first missions, though of Ryo only disappintment and resentment was expressed. Just as with her training, she failed to take any of her assignments seriously as well, resulting in several critical failures that eventually led her mother to send her on a suicide mission; the assassination of Sol Tiar.
The plan backfired when Sol, who outclassed Ryo so greatly that she posed not even a slight threat to him, took the girl beneath his wing rather than killing her for attempting to take his life. She spent only a short while with him before the man exhibited a lapse in mental stability, then abandoned him and returned home with one more failure beneath her belt.
Since then, all of her work has been free-lance, coming from a variety of sources rather than being passed along the chain by her mother. Presently, Ryo assumes the guise of a student at the Schule vom Gemut, and seeks to further her skills to be better prepared for when next her mother calls on her.
