Flame Control: Ember is a Focus of Fire, tied physically and metaphysically to the primal, cosmic forces of flame. Typically, she cannot be burned by unpowered flame, no matter how hot, nor can anything touching her body such as clothing or jewelry. In addition, she is capable of sensing flame in whatever form it takes, and can willfully stoke or snuff it as the need arises.
Antique Tinkerer: An unusual hobby with a small but highly-knowledgeable and dedicated following in Cardinal, Emmy counts herself among the number of people who possess ancient technology that has been out of circulation for decades, sometimes even longer. She has a fascination with this old technology, and over the course of about ten years has become proficient at maintaining it, repairing it, and even fabricating parts that can no longer be pulled from junkyards or other non-functioning pieces of said technology. Unlike most of her colleagues, she actually uses this old technology rather than setting it out on display to collect dust.
Physical Appearance
Ember stands five feet and ten inches tall with a slender build. A long, graceful neck leads to a pretty, heart-shaped face decorated by a band of freckles stretching from one cheekbone to the other. Her most notable feature, however, is her fiery red hair.
History
Since childhood, Emmy has been obsessed with fire. Long before any sort of magical potential began to develop, she was drawn to the flame like a moth, which in turn made rearing her very difficult for her parents. This fascination came to a head when she managed to burn down her family home when left unattended, destroying everything inside and leaving nothing but ash and coal in her wake. Miraculously, she was pulled from the charred remains of her home alive and without a scratch, though this incident also caused the first fissures in the relationship she shared with her parents. Over time they, and her mother especially, began to suspect her powers and even resent her outright when it became all but plainly clear that she could use magic to some degree.
To make matters worse, she is now embroiled in a power-struggle between her mentor Alothin and an unknown assailant bent on stealing her Focus powers and ending her life in the process. Now, all but completely alone with no family or friends, she has holed herself away within the Magisterium's walls to prepare for the day when she must face her assassin once again.
