:If this race is already approved, it's balanced as is. You could add racial abilities that cost normally just to make it something common between race members, but doing so while making it cost less and eliminate weaknesses (to a lesser extent, since you could probably research that into a normal tech) actually alters the balance of the race. The ability you describe doesn't seem to come built in with any cons, so this would inherently disbalance the race. Just my non-staffly view. --Ice 12:58, 15 October 2013 (PDT)<br>

::This is just an upgrade idea to have the race be on par with half-saiyan. The saiyan disadvantage of a tail is easily fixed with a tech, or you can remove the disadvantage while this upgrade is a once per week disadvantage remover, and the Glyph of Thought disadvantage cannot be removed from the race currently with the only option to improve it to upgrade concentration threshold. The decreased cost thing can be changed though it was just an idea. Looking for more input on this. --Dashizer 15 Oct. 2013

:::Nothing in the Battlemind race says the disadvantage can't be overcome with techniques. It just doesn't spell out any techniques for doing so. Kinda like there is no Giji SSJ in the Saiyan rules, but one of Curt's characters picked that up. That said I have no other further input for you. The race already seems pretty awesome. As you may have caught in the room, I'm planning to make a character statistically identical to a Battlemind and adding this to it would just be one more thing that could make the character more insane to fight. I already don't think the glyphs are particularly potent as a disadvantage, since when you see glyphs showing up around somebody's body, you (ICly) kinda assume it's part of casting a spell or using an ability. In a Saiyan's case, their tail is part of them, usually pretty noticeable, with some established history drawing attention to it, and culturally they tend to protect it like a guy jumping to defend his sack from a kick. Somebody protecting their head from a hit is pretty normal so it wouldn't really be noticed as weird behavior. --Ice 19:58, 16 October 2013 (PDT)

Racial Upgrade

Suggested by Dashizer

Unbound Mind: This upgrade would allow a battlemind player to purchase a once per week 3x PL transformation tech that would be discounted with Advanced Mental Lore. The fluff of the tech including some in-game effect is that the Battlemind shatters their Glyphs of Thought unlocking vast potential power. This would give the character a scene of 3x PL and remove the Glyph of Thought weakness while this is active. The once per week idea comes from the ability to unbind a character from his Glyph of Thoughts being a difficult an secretive lore. This concept would lead to a similar frequency unlock much like SSJ which advancing in such control to be story based as it would require research into the ability to control the Glyphs of Thought.

If this race is already approved, it's balanced as is. --Ice 12:58, 15 October 2013 (PDT)

Nothing in the Battlemind race says the disadvantage can't be overcome with techniques. It just doesn't spell out any techniques for doing so.
