So this is something I've recently begun to ask myself about this technique. I'll use Ciel as an example. I've always used her long knives as long ranged weapons due to weapon prof, since it gives her a lot more speed, even if no damage bonus is given. But does having weapon proficiency also give her melee proficiency, if she chooses not to throw knives around? Or does she have to get a separate melee WP for the knives to get those bonuses? Marcus

It counts for both melee and ranged use, for weapons that are compatible with both. So, it counts for these (since the knives are balanced for throwing), and it counts, for instance, if someone uses a rifle to buttstroke an enemy. Alternately, melee weapons that are not balanced for throwing (ie, most swords) would not gain WP for it, since it's not something that's practiced to the point of proficiency. Thanks for the clarification. :) Marcus

New changes chat

Personally, I think most everything is fair. Only thing I'd like to see is "once per scene treat their PL as 2x higher for the purpose of resisting an attempted disarm." be changed to "once per scene treat their PL as 2x higher for the purpose of a defensive action."

Because I barely ever see disarm used, and these changes probably aren't going to make people want to go for it. Rick
