− | ==Fighting Style==
| |
− |
| |
− | Gi Xuan uses his agile body to great advantage, quickly leaping and bounding, twisting and diving through enemy attacks to draw into melee range. Once there, he prefers to attack with carefully executed strikes to break an enemy's defense down, and then break their offense down, and finally break their will to fight down. Speed and secondary effects are crucial factors in his fighting style.

| |
− | ==Techniques==
| |
− |
| |
− | ;Static Shuriken
| |
− | :These shuriken provide no extra damage boost when thrown, and have no particular durability. When they are hurled into an energy projectile, of either total stamina cost or damage (whichever is higher) of 100% KiPL or less, the energy projectile ignites as though it had hit its target. This has no effect on streams and non-projectile energy effects. Shuriken are assumed destroyed if they hit anything, but additional ones can be made for (insert cost here). Gi starts with 10.
| |
− |
| |
− | ;Haritoge
| |
− | :Mortal-grade fighting needles that become barbed after they are stabbed into something. While they are breakable like any mortal object, removing them from the wound of a ki/phys fighter may require powered force equal to 10% of their durability (which is then damaged due to barbs ripping at flesh on the way out), and regardless of the victim's powertype, the removal of the needle will cause 15% Gi's KiPL in endurance loss for each of two posts afterward from bleeding or short circuits (in machinery). This stamina is drained from Ki/Physical power first, then Psi, then Magic, if necessary. Haritoge can be replaced for (insert cost here) each. Gi starts with 4.
| |
− |
| |
− | ;Ninja Art - Kyūsho no Jutsu
| |
− | :This is a passive mechanic that makes any bonus damage attributed to Proficiency common techniques or original techniques that site this rule instead cause "virtual damage", which does not drain stamina from the user. The bonus damage is not reduced from durability, but instead is multiplied by 3 and causes that amount of pain / simulated damage to the victim. This means that the victim will act as though it had taken three times as much bonus damage for 5 posts, but the damage will not actually be done. Thus, a limb that simply is seriously injured might become temporarily useless because of this effect, and if combined damage and virtual damage exceed the victim's durability, they will exceed their pain threshold and fall unconscious. This applies to other forms of durability aside from physical durability, as well. Virtual damage is not mended by healing.
| |
− |
| |
− | ;Diminutive
| |
− | :Gi Xuan's size passively increases his bodily virtual speed by 25% KiPL. This is further increased by another 25% KiPL for defense against melee weaponry larger than two feet in any dimension.

− | ==Biography==
| |
− |
| |
− | Gi Xuan was born into the secret life of the hidden village of Yamagakure. His parents were both skilled assassins, and it was to this career that he was reared to pursue. However, after the second Null, the need for such shady mercenaries declined sharply, and Xuan's family's skills, as well as many others in Yamagakure, fell into disuse. As power wielders began to rise again, Gi witnessed his parents and other honored ninja being shamed by those who did not have their village's restriction of targets.
| |
− |
| |
− | After meditating on this dourly one day, Gi Xuan petitioned the Shadow Council to allow him to train abroad, a practice that had begun several years prior but had shown inconclusive results. He staked his family's honor on the line, stating that he would make it his personal task to make the ninja of his village feared and respected once again. He outlined for the Council the ways he planned to pursue his skills in a real world environment, similar to how many power wielders do, but with discipline and purpose, rather than fighting simply to get stronger. They approved his request, and after a solemn conversation with his parents, they issued their approval as well. He trekked outward to begin his training.
