Elesia's appearance is a startling one. Her skin is deathly pale, while her eye retain a sick, yellowish color. Her hair had at one time been a rich and full blond, but now it's thin and ashy. When in combat she becomes fully imposing, donning a wicked looking suit of armor and wielding a black sword etched with crimson markings. In reality, she was once a noble knight of Westphalia, and retains much of her manners. However, her current status has left her a very bitter and cynical woman as well.

Powers

The death knight is a master swordsman. Her skill with the broadsword reaches near perfection, and is very much evidenced when in battle. However, this is hardly the extent of Elesia's skills. Her body was twisted by a necromancer, and now she carries unparalleled corruption and decay within it. Elesia delights in stealing her opponents' vitality, both through her sword, and a deadly miasma conjured up around her body. She has also been known to temporarily brittle and weaken her opponents by spitting out liquids of some kind from within her at them, making her that much more dangerous.

Biography

Elesia Riesz was once a prominent Trinity Knight of Westphalia. Stalwart protector of the people, she put her life on the line several times during her life to do her duty. She was primarily stationed at the border towns of the country, and often enough was charged with repelling undead, foreign, and local threats that assaulted her points of jurisdiction. However, Elesia was never alone, for her brother Edward was always stationed at her side. Edward was every bit as heroic and skilled as his sister, perhaps even more so for he was the captain of their unit. It was never established which of the siblings was the strongest.

Elesia and Edward were charged with hunting down and slaying a discovered necromancer in a Westphalian border town as per the rules of their nation. When the contingent of knights made it to their target's location, they found a ghost town, a ravaged and blasted town with no living soul in it. Only the echoes of the dead. Literally, for they were ambushed and set upon by the reanimated corpses of the townspeople. The knights fought back, but Edward was defeated and dragged away by the undead, along with a few of their compatriots.

Enraged and grieving, Elesia pursued immediately. The necromancer and his small army were retreating to the Drovinian Reaches, and she resolutely wished to bring her brother back before he could be turned into one of her bitter enemies. Her target retreated into a small tower of his fashioning, and there she fought against his small horde of animated corpses. Battling her way to the top, Elesia found her brother, already turned and a mindless slave of his master. The laws of Westphalia dictated that he be destroyed, and the two engaged in battle. It was a very weary and almost defeated Elesia who finally cast the killing blow, destroying her brother and freeing his soul from his undead shell. And at that moment the necromancer appeared, killing her and turning Elesia into his newest minion to replace Edward as his strongest warrior. And as his mindless wife, as an added benefit.

For more than a century, Elesia Riesz was under the control of the necromancer, doing his bidding as his paltry empire started to grow. As an undead knight, she had developed powers vastly different than what she had possessed when alive. These allowed her to steal the very life from her opponents, something which she needed to survive. Many a human warrior fell by her blade and her consumption as she killed for her master. However, the necromancer's actions finally caught the eye of Westphalia. Seeing an opportunity to nip this particular threat before it could grow into something worse, the theocracy sent its Templar of Sorrow and completely smashed the necromancer's entire organization, slaying him in the process.

During the conflagration, Elesia somehow survived. With the necromancer's death she regained her own self, and quickly realized that she had spent more than one hundred years as what she had always sworn to fight against, committing the same acts that were deemed as unforgivable by Westphalian law. However, she felt no need to end her own life. Her sense of honor dictated that she somehow make up for her sins. Never able to return to her home, she's resolved to traveling the other lands of D'hennex on a quest to atone for her sins.
