Mystics

A lecture on all things Mystic Mystics are a race of beings that Look exactly like humans, the only physical difference their blood is infused with large amounts of concentrated ki therefore colored blue or sometimes very dark blue and in especially rare cases white instead of red... because of the potency of their blood they are normally harvested for their magical properties.... When Mystics are born their blood is red and their power level is only that of a humans or a max of 5, while a child they are unable to learn or acquire any form of ki or techniques... The ki energy lays dormant in their bodies until the age of puberty(10-13) when they go through a process called The Potency, during this time for about 3 weeks the body will undergo heavy metaphysical and biological changes this is when the ki locked deep within in their DNA structure is released by the chemical's produced in a mystics body upon reaching the age of adolescence.. this is the most painful experience that the mystics can and will ever go through, in all actuality many don't survive the potency. Either they would die or they would go mad and become dark mystics who are immediately destroyed (usually). Whence the body is finished changing their Ki base would have been increased substantially though many do not know their ability to use ki they mainly become artificers, mages, alchemists, and priests. No one knows where they came from or how to tell what they are unless they see the Mystic bleed. They roam the Galaxies in their shuttles running in all directions from the Races who would see them enslaved. It is said that the Mystics once lived on a peaceful planet who's name had been lost to the sands of time their world was very much a land of fantasy with everything you could imagine and some that you couldn't.. they lived there for millions of years in peace until one day a huge black ship landed and these huge humanoid type creatures came out and started slapping these collars (slave collars) on! them and hauling them off on the huge space ships... they tried to fight back but the enemies used this secret weapon they called Ki... it took many generations but finally they learned to utilize this "Ki" and use it as a weapon against the slavers a huge war had taken place and many casualties had been reported but in the end the Mystics won, unfortunately their planet was on it's last legs from the battle so they all boarded these ships and left the planet looking to colonize other planets and galaxies... that was almost 500,000 years ago and instead of repopulating the universe they have been slowly dying off. There are also subtle structure changes in a mystics body.... Their body's create more complex and ki enriched enzyme, proteins, and cell structures, making their bones tougher, immune system stronger, senses more acute and their healing ability is slightly sped up... Also since the ki is so strongly connected to the blood it only takes a few short days for the blood to grow back again. also their brains and nervous system are quite a bit more evolved which makes them more likely to survive system shock.
