The Order of Leth-Kemii is a Kamism-affiliated organization almost exclusively operant inside the continent of D'hennex. It is the sister Order of the Order of Ma'Shas. While the two Orders have memberships that span the society from the lowest peasant devotee to the noblest, wealthiest pontiffs, the heads of Ma'Shas and Leth-Kemii exclusively orchestrate and administrate the Kamist church in the southern continent. Of the two, the Order of Leth-Kemii is more scholastic and defensive than its sister.

Principles

Brothers of Leth-Kemii place great value in knowledge and understanding, which they view as the ultimate goals for mankind to achieve. They are greatly centered upon the worship of the Kami and the adherence to His teachings. Though only a small portion of the Order is capable of powered combat, many posess and efficiently wield powerful religious conviction, which inspires and bolsters the faithful, while subtly undercutting others with insistent truths. They submit their lives to both understanding every facet of Kamism, as well as demanding strict adherence from others. Lower tiers of Leth-Kemii can often be found in small villages, acting as their religious leaders.

Gaining rank within the Order relies upon the value and quantity of contributions to Leth-Kemii's vast collective knowledge, whether those contributions are merely insight into what is already known, or new information that was divulged to the member. Most Mid- to Upper-level Leth-Kemii have the entire Codex Acumai memorized, can speak and write in 20 different languages including Vulgus, and have published at least one novel-sized book within D'hennex's most extensive, untainted library, the Leth Logis Kan Kemii, which is actually a collection of smaller libraries scattered across the many chapters across the continent, linked with magical seams such that they all seem like one somewhat cramped, contiguous library.

The highest ranking members, typically with some form of "Librarian" affixed to their title, are wise beyond wisdom and charismatic beyond charisma. It is said that one of a special set of unique necklaces is given to the top two or three tiers of the Order, which has been magically enhanced to be, in essence, like the Kami's gaze itself, effectively rendering one's audience far more open to "truth" than they would normally be. For this reason, nobody of the faith ever lies to a high Leth-Kemii monk, for they rarely have the same patience for lies as the real Kami might.

Leth-Kemii Combat

Again, monks of Leth-Kemii rarely resort to fighting. However, this does not mean they are pushovers, for many of them study magic in great depth, and are quite capable combat warlocks. In fact, upon reaching the rank of Honored Sage, a monk of the Order begins to be taught of the Focus, a mysterious metaphysical force that connects all living things with the universe, as well as of the special holy magics inherent to the followers of the Kami. With these powers, the presence of a Grandmaster Librarian can turn entire battles between armies in one direction or another as the monk instills righteousness and courage into the faithful just as he preempts the enemy's entire strategy and rains fire and lightning at key weakpoints.

The Focus

As with the Ma'Shas, trained Leth-Kemii can call upon the Focus in their times of need as well. Unlike their more aggressive brothers, the Leth-Kemii use the Focus to draw on the knowledge and insight of the minds of people around them, to a point which rivals even the most experienced Psions. With this uncanny and remarkably flexible power in their hands, they can solve problems in a fraction of the time necessary, correct errors before they are even made, and completely understand the nature of any particular person, from both inside and out. A few of the highest-ranking Leth-Kemii are so connected to the people around them that they occasionally misspeak and say "we" or "our" instead of "I" or "my" when in particularly crowded areas.
