These are the official rules for the Celestian Race. For in-character information, see this page.

The Celestian race hails from the floating isle of Celestia, which hovers over D'hennex. The people of this floating island possess characteristics that others deem as angelic, displaying wings and holy auras, to mention a few. They excel at gathering great strengths, and yet are hindered by being stalwart and slow to learn and change.

Nomenclature: Celestian (single), Celestians (plural)
Class: Minor Race
Tech Bias: Poor
Available Power Types: Ki, Psionic, Magical

Major Racial Advantages

  • Angelic Might: Celestians have a natural gain rate of 4%, with a daily cap of 8%. They also begin play with 1.25x the standard PL allowance.
  • Divine Healing: Celestians excel at healing and restoration techniques. Any technique that is specifically geared towards the restoration of any type of durability is immediately treated as if it already has two iterations of the Drain Reduction common technique.
  • Stalwart Sentries: As bitterly unchanging as Celestians pride themselves to be, they are fairly resistant to disrupting effects which could affect their concentration. Celestians have a natural concentration threshold of 50% of their power level.
  • Serene Minds: A Celestian, though perhaps being a slow learner, is also highly protected from mind altering effects. Any such techniques used against Celestians are treated as if the affected character possesses twice his actual PL. If the Celestian is a psion, then this natural defense stacks with the psionic one.
  • Sentinel: Celestians pride themselves as being better than any other race they have ever encountered. Exceedingly so where the undead are concerned. They are naturally resistant to damage from such unholy monsters. With a dedicated base charge and technique action, a Celestian may activate the very divinity within them, making them naturally resistant versus any damage inflicted unto them by any undead or unholy being or practitioner. All damage received in a single post is reduced by the base charge of the Celestian, and incurs no stamina drain. This effect lasts for five posts, and is only usable once per scene.

Minor Racial Advantages

  • Immortal: Celestians never age and never suffer from disease (save for powered afflictions). Unless killed, a Celestian will last for eternity.
  • Heavenly Regeneration: Celestians are powered by great divine energies, which in turn serve for greater regeneration. Each real day that passes consumes two incapacitation points. This number does not increase with hospital stays, though.

Major Racial Disadvantages:

  • Slow Changing Minds: Being a stalwart people, Celestians possess a tech bias of Poor for researching all types of techniques.
  • Divinity: All Celestians possess a divine spiritual aura, which they display proudly. Every Celestian character must possess a Ki power level. This power level must always be equal to or greater than any other power types the Celestian possesses.

Minor Racial Disadvantages

  • Unique Physiologies: Celestians possess unique physiologies. They receive no bonuses from hospital stays. Likewise, those who have not studied their physiologies are unable to heal Celestians properly. As such, any non-Celestian healing technique aimed at these angelic beings is only half as effective.
  • Unchanging: The people of Celestia are hesitant to change. Celestian characters are unable to ever research the Enlightenment common technique.
  • Honorable: Celestians dislike guile and deceit, and are physically unable to employ some of the lengths others use to befuddle their opponents. A Celestian character is unable to mask his or her power level in any way; nor are they capable of making their power appear to be any greater than it really is.
