Rules talk:Magic Power/Committee to Replace Doubled Learning

This page assumes that mage doubling has been removed entirely. The discussion here, therefore, will focus on ways to balance Magic assuming that mage doubling does not exist.

So, uh, suggest some crap, guys. Tiryst 12:34, 11 February 2008 (PST)

Hmmm. Maybe instead of doubled learning, techs get a 'bump' on the bias scale? So good would be excellent, neutral would be good, ect? It's kind of a midway thing between doubled learning and just regular learning. --Ff0ecaf 12:50, 11 February 2008 (PST)

And what do the few characters with excellent bias get bumped up to? there is nothing above that. Good idea but it would need more expanding. Lordarikel

Hrm. Subtract an extra 5-10% from the cost. --Ff0ecaf 13:38, 11 February 2008 (PST)

Assuming Mage Doubling does not exist, I would suggest that mages receive X techdays at creation to cover the cost of a basic 'kit' of spells (similar to what I suggested on the Preserve Doubled Learning page). Beyond that, there's not much else I can think of that would balance them against the other powertypes. Kamin
