Saiyan Elite: Though born on Earth, Courl is also the most recent-born of an unbroken line of Saiyan Elites. Through the course of Saiyan history, these elite fighters have most often been placed in high-ranking military positions, and in several instances her still-living family members have been assigned to the Royal Guard. This pedigree means that while most Saiyans have been bred to fight, Courl has been bred to win. Pound for pound, she has enough raw potential to make even other Saiyans think twice before engaging her.

Royal Guard Style: As implied by the name, this is a specific type of martial art taught to those who are assigned to guard members of the Saiyan royal family. Its secrets are typically never revealed to those who are not both Saiyan Elites and in line for such a position, making Courl the first Earthborn Saiyan to learn the fighting style. As honor and sacrifice are key elements in Saiyan culture, those who defend the throne are expected to make such sacrifices themselves; by permanently consuming a portion of their own power, they are granted an extreme temporary boost to their abilities.

Musicianship: Prior to the events of the Second Saiyan War, Courl had no real interest in fighting. Despite the generations of breeding that have gone into making her a perfect warrior, her true passion was always music. She is skilled in playing a number of classical and modern instruments and has very broad tastes.
Brightest Bulb in the Box: Though they have a reputation for being stupid, Courl is highly intelligent not only by Saiyan standards, but by human standards as well. Part of this is due to her breeding, and part of it is due to being privately tutored rather than entrusted to Cardinal's public school system.
Linguist: Though taught it only recently, Courl speaks fluent Saiya-go in addition to Cardinalian common.

Physical Appearance

Courl stands five and a half feet tall with a lean, athletic build. Once reaching adolescence, her hair stopped growing (as with all Saiyans) and is worn in a thick, single braid that runs down between her shoulders. Though she has some classical Saiyan features (brown hair and coppertone skin), her eyes are a bright golden color rather than the typical dark brown most Saiyans and halfbreeds possess.

History

Courlegmane's story does not begin on her planet of birth, but rather on a planet nestled in the darker corners of the Milky Way galaxy. On this rocky, barren landscape, the Saiyan Armada made plans to terraform the planet and use it as a colony world. Unbeknownst to them, the planet only appeared uninhabited, and once the terraforming began, its subterranean denizens rushed to the surface to fight off the invaders that were attempting to remake their world. Though they Saiyans fought fiercely to take the planet by force, they faced an army that vastly outnumbered their own, and were eventually forced to retreat. It was during this retreat that Courl's father was killed in combat, and her mother (who was pregnant with her at the time) was placed in a Saiyan pod that was sent back to New Vegeta.

The pod never made it back to New Vegeta. Due to damage it had incurred during her escape, the life support systems would keep Courl's mother alive only long enough to reach the nearest planet capable of supporting life; Earth.

She crash landed seven months later in a field outside of a village between Cardinal City and West City. Now eight months pregnant and weakened from the journey, she went into labor the moment the door of the escape pod swung open. As fortune would have it, however, the member of the village sent to investigate the crash was also the village's medicine man. After fetching the town's midwife, Courl was delivered right in the center of the crater left by her mother's crash landing.

Though initially the language barrier proved to be a problem, Courl's mother and the medicine man became friends, and eventually married. Raised by a human man and a Saiyan woman, Courl enjoyed the best of both worlds, though her true lineage was never revealed to her for fear that she would read too deeply into the implications and rush off to New Vegeta to rejoin her people. It seemed that fate had a whimsical sense of irony; during the Second Saiyan War, her village was razed, her family killed, and she herself only escaped with her life due to the defection of one of Queen Renzu's lieutenants. The Saiyan, named Paizu, dragged her kicking and screaming into the woods beyond the village, and after eluding or slaying those who pursued him for his defection moved to see to Courl's injuries.

It was then that she attacked him, bent on taking his life. While she was outclassed, her golden eyes and uncanny prowess in battle made it obvious to Paizu that he was dealing with an Elite, although one that had curiously not been trained in the slightest. After handily defeating her in single combat, Paizu made an offer to Courl; he, now disillusioned with the 'righteous vengeance' they had come to inflict upon the humans, would remain on Earth as her mentor and teach her how to use her power so that she could take revenge on those who had destroyed her village and killed her family. He asked nothing in return, perhaps thinking of the offer as some small amount of penance for his own role in the butchery and barbarism his ranks had lowered themselves to, rather than the honor and integrity they were supposed to have. Courl accepted, but made one thing inescapably clear after she did:

"When I'm strong enough to get my revenge, you'll be the first one I kill."
