This article is to contain a record of important events, whether created by a player or by a plot event. Things should focus on events of note beyond a single character's purview -- what they had for breakfast is not, a villain wiping out a town is. If it would appear in a newspaper, generally speaking, this is a suitable place for it. Please date all events, for sorting purposes -- newer events should go at the top, and older events at the bottom.

String of robberies occur in South City

Last night, two prominent robberies were perpetrated in the usually peaceful South City of Cardinal. The perpetrators were an unknown group of individuals which were evidenced to be power wielders of some kind. Security cameras only caught glimpses of these people, as they sacked a bank first and then a jewelry shop later on during the evening. The guards at the bank were minimally injured, though they were diagnosed with having some sort of anemia when they were taken to the hospital. No one was found neither injured nor killed at the jewelry shop.

Councilwoman Rescued

Nearly three weeks after a tragic kidnapping that involved a score of combatants and left nearly as many innocents dead, Directional Councilwoman Goodthorpe was recovered safely by a single, freelance power wielder who managed to overhear her interrogation. Unlike previous high-stakes engagements, Goodthorpe described her rescue as "discreet and skillful", with a minimum of damage to the abandoned convenience store she was discovered in, and no casualties. According to reports, the attackers fled after being clearly outmatched in combat. Goodthorpe did not appear to be injured.

The power wielder responsible for the rescue refused to surrender his name, and was not available for comment. Councilwoman Goodthorpe went on to comment publically that the new military forces need new recruits like her rescuer. She also stressed that persons of power have been increasingly targeted lately, and that all available precautions should be taken.

The reasons for Goodthorpe's capture are still mysterious. Police say that Goodthorpe was subjected to repeated interrogations about "Cardinal's secrets" wherein bodily harm was threatened but never caused. She said she was otherwise humanely treated, given a place to sleep and food to eat. The alleged "mastermind" did not make any personal visits, she reported.

Village Slaughtered!

Investigators looking into an anonymous tip discovered that an entire village had been slaughtered, nearby North City, apparently by power-wielding means! Initially, there were fears that the lich Ashkadros had struck again, but investigators report that their findings indicate that is not so. Investigators claim to have found no sign of undead traces at the site, and bodies appear to have been left behind rather than stolen, as is the lich's usual modus operandi. While law enforcement agencies are calling for calm, fears are rising that a previously unknown villain has entered the fray with a high bodycount in mind. We can only hope that the Ranger Guard can deal with this new threat expeditiously.

Assault on Auditorium Thwarted

Once again, the uniformed martial artists associated with "Gi Xuan" made a daring attempt to kidnap Staff Sergeant Richard Bellman, one of the few Cardinal Army officers responsible for training the newly founded Ranger Guard. Bellman was to present a speech to potential Guard recruits in the Nailgun Auditorium in East City this evening.

The kidnappers were overwhelmed by several power wielders, many of whom had come to listen to the lecture. Most of them were taken into military custody. Bellman suffered only minor injuries in his attempted abduction.

The East City Police made a statement shortly after the capture of the attackers. "We are having great difficulty discovering information about the uniformed suspects, or their rumored leader. The martial artists must be kept sedated at all times to prevent their escape, and in that state, they seem to be exceptionally resistant to traditional police interrogation. The Army is now taking things into its own hands, but without a permanent, worthwhile facility to hold the suspects, we are witholding optimism until it is appropriate," stated Commissioner Davis.

Power-Wielder Found Dead Outside West City Teahouse

Today an exchange of words between a young woman and a slightly older man ended with one killing the other. The two were seen together in the Ichiban Tea House, where the man (identified as Koji Deahan) struck at the woman without provocation. She was then seen exiting the tea house as Koji followed. Though the shop owner did not pursue them for fear of his own safety, eye witnesses outside of the shop report a brief skirmish between the two of them that left Deahan critically wounded as the female seemed to simply vanish altogether. Though the girl visited the tea house infrequently, the owner of the establishment could not provide police with a name, only an accurate physical description.

Unknown group of murderers suddenly halted

A certain unknown faction of individuals armed with cutting edge technology had been known to assault power wielders for quite some time. Sometimes their efforts were thwarted, but many times they managed to do away with at least one of their targets at any given time. However, today their efforts were summarily halted as they encountered a saiyan woman who completely incinerated their leader. The rest of the squadron dispersed, whether to lick their wounds or to forever disappear.

Selene Alexander whipped like a ten year old girl

Yesterday, supermodel Selene Alexander found herself on the receiving end of James Kaider's literal discipline belt. This occurred due to some error of miscommunication, as the two prominent figures found themselves at the same location and time, each scheduled for their individual photo shoots. An argument ensued, in which Selene called Kaider and one of his sisters (no name was specified) a "bitch". James Kaider responded by grabbing a cameraman's belt and whipping her as if he would punish a child of his. One member of the crew managed to take a picture (several in fact), selling them and the story to a newspaper. The headline appeared today. Sources tell that Alexander's career has been ground to a halt, as no one would want someone such as her endorsing their products. Selene herself was unavailable for comment.

As an alternative to the newspaper headline, the security videos of the incident were dispersed among the internet for further viewing pleasure.

Directional Councilwoman Goodthorpe Kidnapped!

Cardinal Directional Councilwoman Chalice Goodthorpe was kidnapped today at a fundraiser event she was hosting, at the top of her high-rise condo on August 31st. The suspects resembled the same colored ninja martial artists who committed two other acts of villainy earlier this month.

They were met by local power wielders, who engaged them in a ferocious battle which some described as "totally barbaric", and managed to kill 11 innocent bystanders and seriously injure 8 others. One suspect was also killed in the fighting. In a turn of events, witnesses say they overheard a short conversation between one of the power wielders, identified only as "Koji", and several of the suspects. A "Gi Xuan" was named by the power wielder, and one of the suspects referred to the same person as their "Master". This may imply a powerful criminal mastermind is behind the recent series of attacks and robberies.

Police are now seeking both "Koji" and "Gi Xuan", and a reward has been posted for anyone with information leading to the safe return of the Councilwoman, or to either of the above-named individuals.

Directional Council Unveils Dramatic Series of Laws

Today, the Directional Council announced the signing into law of several critical bills. Bills 162 through 166 lay down the rights and responsibilities as power wielders as citizens, recognizing them as common people under the law, while granting them certain extra rights due to their uncommon powers. The Bills (collectively called the Power Wielder Acts), also sign into law the existance of two new government agencies -- the Ranger Guard and the Special Adept Forces. Recruiting and training has already begun on these power wielding military/paramilitary forces. As well, they announced the signing of a treaty with Alaris to construct a new prison on an isolated island, sufficiently secure to contain the vast majority of power wielding criminals.

Explosion Rocks North Sector of Central

After failing to respond quickly to a bank robbery performed by costumed martial artists in Central Capital, three power wielders tracked the thieves to what authorities say was an abandoned warehouse in the North Sector of the city. They immediately attacked the facility. After what was obviously reckless fighting on one or both sides, the entire facility was destroyed in a tremendous explosion that caused several million zenny in damage, not counting any stolen goods that may have been inside the warehouse. In addition, a freight truck was also destroyed, and in the ensuing explosion, a civillian car was crushed, killing the driver. The attackers suffered no casualties, but two thieves were taken into custody by police, and two more were killed. Others were believed to have escaped on vehicles of unknown technology.

A Central Police Lieutenant on the scene was quick to lay blame on the power wielders. "Whether the costumed suspects caused the large explosions tonight or not is not what matters," he explained. "If the (power wielders) had called for reinforcements, or worked as a team, or attacked less carelessly, or done anything that remotely resembled organization rather than random vigilanteism, a lot of damage could have been prevented, here."

Masked Thieves Heist Valuable Relic!

Martial artists dressed as ninja with strong Azsharan accents assaulted the East City Historical Museum of Desert Cultures. What had been originally planned as a silent heist ended up becoming a raging battle on the museum's roof, as Nikolai Viacouslav and Landra Dragon attempted to thwart them. One thief was killed during the battle, and Landra received serious injuries. However, the remaining thieves managed to procure the Ewer of Halashk and get away on a speedy aircraft disguised as a helicopter. No thieves were able to be detained for interrogation. While they were all undoubtedly affiliated, the head and identity of their organization is still a mystery.

Ashkadros attacks Typ-Ing!

Ashkadros, the lich, assaulted Typ-Ing with his undead horde. Few details are available from the survivors, but broken accounts pieced together by intrepid reporters indicate that Chadisekhar and Julia Starfire were seen at the scene, trying to mount an impromptu defense of the town. They fled before his wrath, however, Chadisekhar almost succumbing to the undead necromancer's magical powers. Rumours also abound of a new form of zombie, previously unseen under Ashkadros' control, but these rumours are yet unconfirmed.

Ashkadros attacks Port Goldenwarren!

Ashkadros, the lich, attacked Port Goldenwarren with his undead horde today. Opposing him were Chadisekhar, Ciel Deschaine, and Constance Ina Kaider. Tazmire Corwin also arrived on the scene, but too late to assist -- the lich and his forces had already escaped. The necromancer more or less wiped out the entire port town of twenty thousand souls, and more than eight thousand bodies are estimated to be missing from the wreckage. Numerous underground tunnels collapsed after the undead retreated, causing much destruction to the town's buildings. Notably, the defending heroes managed to wrest the necromancer's staff away from him. Attempts to destroy it were ineffective, and Tazmire Corwin took it away with him, encased in a block of ice until a more permanent method of dealing with it could come.
