Fighting Style

Like many other Elves, Daemzin is a masterful longbow archer. She doesn't even stick out particularly amongst them, as she is still relatively inexperienced. However, her bow, the Rii'anathel, permits her to use the arrows she fires like channelling foci, casting spells instantly through her arrows. She is still an amateur at the discipline, but her skill grows daily. As part of her kith's tradition of Kuel Vosst, she keeps herself blinded at all times, instead relying on her mindsight to perceive things.

Techniques

Rii'anathel (Magic Item)
Item. This is a magical elven longbow. Psions firing the bow use their telekinetic wave stats to determine strength and speed. Ki users use their ki blast stats. Physical characters use half of their strength score and all of their bodily speed. In addition, regardless of which power type fires it, the speed is increased by 100% of the wielder's MagicPL. Alternately, arrows can be cast with magical spells attached to them, delivering their effects to whatever they strike. In this case, the MagicPL speed bonus can be replaced by the speed of the spell's projectile, if desired. In all above cases, Weapon Proficiency can impart additional extra speed. Bow shares durability with the firing PL.
Upgrade: Feythread
The upgrade is activated when Daemzin concentrates on the string of her bow with one psionic slot and her magical natural charge. Doing so causes every non-technique bow shot that has at least one full psionic slot behind it to carry her magical natural charge in additional energy damage, which is reduced from her magical stamina. If Daemzin casts a spell in a post, she cannot also take advantage of this ability, and vice versa. The buff lasts for the three posts following activation.
Upgrade: Shaebark Resin
Magical charge cap for purposes of Feythread is expanded, as per Charge Cap Expansion in the Ki Attack Kit.
Upgrade: Harmonious Focus I
Magical stamina costs for using Feythread's augmentation reduced by 25% per iteration.
Kuel Vosst (Psi)
This psionic technique costs 1 slot to activate, and lasts until the end of the scene, or until it is willingly stopped. By donning a blindfold with this technique, a psion is able to reduce their own eyesight score to zero, rendering them immune to sight-based techniques, and amplifying their psionic senses to be based upon TotalPL instead of PsiPL.
Forsake Sight
Makes this technique passive so long as her blindfold is worn.
Mists of the Dale (Basic Magic - 2)
Creates an area of extraordinarily thick fog that reduces eyesight rating when trying to see anything inside the area by 100% MagicPL. Anything that enters the area will benefit from similar circumstances, but receives the penalty when trying to see anything anywhere. The area of fog covers a sphere with a radius of 25 feet, centered and anchored to the point it is cast. Every time the caster's MagPL doubles, with the counting beginning at 500 and the first double at 1000, the radius of the fog doubles. The fog lasts for five posts.
Upgrade: Shroud
Makes the mists provide 100% MagPL visible stealth for everything in them, prior to applying the eyesight reduction.
Upgrade: Ambient Opacity
Causes all energy signatures in the mist to be mimiced and duplicated instantly everywhere in the mist. Defeated by anti-signature-hiding techniques greater than her TotalPL.
Phantasmal Wounds (Basic Magic - 2)
This spell casts a violet projectile, moving at 50% MagPL speed, that costs base magical natural charge in stamina and causes a similar amount of damage. A struck target immediately perceives that their defenses have been struck for an additional 120% caster's MagPL in damage, when in fact, only the natural charge is caused. If the perceived damage plus all other damage, perceived or otherwise, exceeds the limits of that defense, that defense stops working -- barriers and armors crumble, and psions/ki wielders/physical characters pass out. If the defense endures for 3 posts, however, the perceived damage reverts to the damage actually caused. This is a mental effect; characters with mental resistance, such as psions, can resist the perceived damage (but not the actual damage) if their mental defenses are greater than the user's TotalPL. Perceived damage cannot be reduced or redirected by other means.

Weapon Proficiency II (Bows)
Speedcast
Multitask I

Racial: Family Heirloom - Mental Command

Biography

Daemzin Rii was born to Jaemant and Roiren Rii in a kith camp, which once sat encamped along the Elven border zone with the Jungles of Ka. One of many such camps, the Elven children there were consistently trained over the centuries to the tradition of the Kes'Shyaesit, roughly translated to "Black Veil". These specifically instructed elves killed all that passed through the border who the Royal edicts condemned, which during her service, meant anyone who wasn't Elven. However, during the Jungle Fever saga, her kith was completely eradicated by waves and hordes of rabid, mutated monsters, leaving only Daemzin to survive them. However, Daemzin was mortally wounded, and expected to die alongside her kithmates.

Luckily, another Elf came along -- Lucian Jaareun. An honored but unknown outsider, Daemzin challenged his authority to pass, even as she began to lose her grip on life. Lucian outmaneuvered her and knocked her unconscious, only to discover her state, which prompted him to take her back to Daroga, where the healer Aderastos nursed her back to health, and Lucian kept an eye on her. Without a life-role (as Daemzin lacked the experience to become a full-fledged Kes'Shyaesit and the other kriels were too busy fighting off the mutant threat to deal with her), she returned home, and then travelled to the Elven capital for the first time. There, the Emperor heard her case and decided to put her in charge of watching Lucian as he cavorted with the Humans, making sure he did not make any decisions that might soil his Elven heritage.

Though Lucian detests the idea of having another Elf always monitoring him, he has decided to permit her company. Now, they must struggle to live with one another, between Daemzin's strongly reinforced bigotry of non-Elven races and Lucian's closeness to several people in that category, and compassion for their cause.
