These are the official rules for the Sororas Draconis. For in-character information, see this page.

Sororas Draconis are a race of human/dragon hybrids. All Sororas Draconis are female, half human, and half dragon. They posses many strengths and weaknesses that their dragon slaves do, and focus those strengths into enslaving and killing dragons.

Nomenclature; Sororas Draconis
Class; Minor Race
Tech Bias; Excellent
Available Power Types; Ki, Magical, Physical, Psi
Major Racial Advantages

Ascension; All Sororas Draconis have access to an ascended form. This ability allows them to, once per week, assume the form of a dragon, doubling their power level for five posts. This ability may only be used when Excite Heritage is active, and while a TD cost of 45 days (not affected by bias) must be invested, the ascended form comes with the benefit of allowing the Sororas Draconis to drastically increase in size. This may be taken at character creation, or any point thereafter; all characters of this race begin play with this technique pre-approved.

Specialization; All Sororas Draconis specialize in the enslavement and destruction of dragons. Because their knowledge is so focused and because their approach to wielding power is so single-minded, they learn techniques at comparably fast rate. All Sororas Draconis begin play with excellent bias.

Excite Heritage; All Sororas Draconis have the ability to awaken their dormant potential by exciting the draconic blood in their veins. By draining their natural charge from their stamina pool, they gain two levels of Preferred Enemy: Dragons for the duration of the combat. Sororas Draconis are, oddly, immune to this ability themselves, so it is useless during training or when disputes cannot be settled peaceably.

Minor Racial Advantages

Weapons Training; Dragon-slaying is no job for the unequipped. All Sororas Draconis are trained in the use of a weapon. Swords are the most common, almost any weapon is acceptable so long as it is potentially useful in killing dragons. Upon creation, characters using this racial template may choose a single weapon type with which to gain two levels of proficiency for free. As a caveat, no other types of weapons may be researched, as Sororas Draconis focus their training in very specific ways.

Longevity; Because they are bred with dragons, Sororas Draconis have heightened life spans. Typically they live between one and two hundred years, and rarely as many as three hundred years.

Kinslayer's Instinct; Sororas Draconis are able to sense the presence of other dragons instinctively, and if a creature has dragon's blood of a significant purity (greater than 1/8th concentration) the Sororas Draconis is aware immediately. If the creature in question is masking its nature via techniques, the effectiveness of its masking technique must be greater than 100% of the Sororas Draconis' total PL, or it is penetrated.

Major Racial Disadvantages

Inhibited Growth; Though generations of breeding with dragons have created powerful hybrids, there are also drawbacks. Because their children are borne from such an unnatural union, they are often weak and underdeveloped in the earlier years of their life. Infant death rates are exceedingly high, and pregnancies are rarely carried to term. All Sororas Draconis begin play with 2/3rds normal PL, or 1,000.

Inherited Weakness; Strength is not the only thing Sororas Draconis gain through the use of dragons to produce hybrid children; they also share compound weaknesses. All Sororas Draconis take doubled damage from any technique designed specifically to deal enhance damage against dragons, without the investment of additional stamina on the part of their attacker, up to a maximum of three times the base damage through the use of such techniques or combination of such techniques with other nullifier-type effects. These weaknesses CANNOT be circumvented by the use of techniques.

Elemental Alignment; Because dragons are elemental by nature, and Sororas Draconis are bred with them, they also inherit their father’s elemental alignment. The crossbreeding stunts all elemental resistances, however, and compounds elemental weaknesses. When creating a Sororas Draconis, the player may choose from one of the following six elements;

Fire
Water
Earth
Wind
Holy
Dark

It is necessary for techniques to follow a central theme based on the chosen element. In addition, a Sororas Draconis takes doubled damage from the element opposite of her alignment, without additional stamina drain on part of the attacker. The elements interact in such a way;

Fire is weak to water, water is weak to fire.
Earth is weak to wind, wind is weak to earth.
Holy is weak to dark, dark is weak to holy.

Sororas Draconis are immune to their own weaknesses when fighting one another, so their alignments in this instance are largely unimportant. Elemental damage from ANY other source, however, qualifies for the enhanced damage. Additionally, these weaknesses CANNOT be circumvented by the use of techniques. Between their two weaknesses, Sororas Draconis cannot take more than three times the base damage of any attack without the investment of additional stamina on their attacker's part.

Minor Racial Disadvantages

Infertility; Sororas Draconis are so thoroughly-interbred with dragons that they are literally incapable of breeding with humans. Complicating this matter is the fact that dragon and human genes are hardly compatible. Research has yielded potent magics that make such unions more viable, but the best any prospective mother can hope for is less than a fifty percent chance to successfully carry a pregnancy to term. Worse yet, infant mortality rates are very high. Genetically, Sororas Draconis are no more likely inclined to produce daughters than sons, and all males born are eliminated via systematic infanticide. All of these factors combined have resulted in a sparse, tenuous population that is constantly struggling to maintain itself. Culture and worldview reflect upon this, and Sororas Draconis often openly hate human women for their ability to conceive with such relative ease.

Focused Training; Sororas Draconis use a variety of weapons, but never more than one. They must have at least one level of proficiency in a type of melee weapon, and may not deviate from that weapon and learn to use any other. They may not research General Weapons Training in either form.
