Appearance

Alexander is a six-and-a-half foot tall, imposing tiger demihuman with shoulder-length black hair streaked with grey at the temples. In day-to-day business affairs, he wears immaculate charcoal-colored suits which have been custom tailored by very exclusive designers. His jewelry is sparse, but tasteful and expensive, usually consisting of no more than cuff links and a matching tie pin. When raiding and performing acts of villainy, he hides himself within the billowing depths of a heavy, flowing black cloak that is held around him by a small amount of telekinetic force.

Powers

While he makes an effort to remain aloof from actual physical combat, Alexander's psionic prowess is formidable, though his psionic signature is completely undetectable. His basic telekinetic attacks and defenses are far faster than the average psion. He couples this with a devastating pain-inducing attack that renders focus for his opponents exceedingly difficult due to torturous levels of pain.

Biography

For generations, the Magister family have been involved in the background of the corporate world, holding the financial reins of any number of companies through shrewd investing and careful manipulation of the markets. Behind the scenes, a carefully-cultivated bloodline of psionic power has lain behind that success in business. While a psion can only read the surface thoughts and emotions of mortals, in business even the most basic of information is enough to give a Magister the upper hand. Vincent Alexander Magister is the current patriarch of the family and CEO of the Magister Finance empire, after taking over from his father, notoriously ruthless and shrewd businessman Niles Magister, some twenty years ago just before Niles succumbed to cancer at the age of eighty-two.

For such a public figure as the head of a major corporate empire, Alexander is reclusive to the point that some consider him to be paranoid. His public appearances are few and far between, and sightings of him outside of corporate press events are practically non-existent. In reality, he simply uses his supernormal abilities to avoid the press, and uses his money and influence to shield himself from them as much as possible. Only once in Alexander's life has he been unable to dodge the media, and that was when Tabitha Magister, the younger of his two daughters, was kidnapped from the exclusive private school she attended in 1993. Both Alexander and his elder daughter, Catabella Magister, made impassioned pleas to the public for Tabitha's safe return, but it was not to be. The case remains open to this day in the files of the East City Police Department.

The truth behind Tabitha's disappearance gets to the root of Alexander's sinister nature. Upon reaching the appropriate age, she evidenced no psionic ability whatsoever. Having no use for a child who could not uphold the family legacy of power, Alexander opted to use the occasion to test the loyalty of his sole powered heir. He ordered Catabella to dispose of her 'useless' sister, and the younger Magister daughter complied. The entire kidnapping (and presumed murder) of Tabitha Magister was orchestrated to Alexander's specifications and carried out quickly and coldly by his favored daughter.

Outside of that one very public incident, Alexander's villainous activities are carried out quickly, anonymously, and brutally. He telepathically commands a band of anonymous, expendable, and easily replaced hirelings, each of whom know nothing more than that they were hired by a cloaked man who spoke psionically and paid in cash. Each raid is linked, usually distantly and through several difficult-to-trace layers of corporate misdirection, to some major financial goal, and Alexander has even occasionally added to that misdirection by extending charitable assistance to his own victims. There is, as yet, no public knowledge that Alexander is the mysterious cloaked figure behind these occasional raids.

It appears that Alexander has withdrawn completely from the public eye just as his daughter Catabella has entered it. Speculation has it that this is because his own health is failing and he is grooming his daughter for the spotlight and the position of ruler over the Magister Finance empire. Nothing could be further from the truth - he has deemed his only surviving daughter unready, and currently unsuitable for any use save that of thief and assassin. He has no intent to relinquish the reins anytime soon - or ever, if his money and power can buy or win him immortality.
